I have assumed diverse [service roles at Harvard University](https://juliarhyder.scholars.harvard.edu/harvard) in a bid to build a robust, collaborative, and inclusive program in which diverse views and opinions are valued and students and faculty feel safe and respected at all times. I also actively assume various [service roles within the larger academic community](https://juliarhyder.scholars.harvard.edu/academic-community) in order to advance the study of the ancient Near East and Hebrew Bible beyond my specific institution.
